Phil, go see a doctor. Don't listen to people on TERB.
Hey! :fencing:

But seriously, yes, see a doctor. When I had it I went to the emergency room because I was afraid that I seriously injured something. They took x-rays of my lower back and hip right away.

So after about 4 days it has finally healed. Here's what worked and didnt work:

Youtube exercises didnt work.
Epsom salt didnt work.
Naproxen took the edge off, but it didnt completely make it go away.
Ginger helped a bit.
But by far the best thing that worked was regular vitamin C.
I stumbled up on this article and decided to give it a try: http://evolvedbynandi.com/my-journey-out-of-sciatica-hell/

I took 1,000 mg of Vit. C every 2 hours or so and that sped up my recovery.
Dont ask me how it works, I dont know

Phil, the vitamin C had fuck all effect on what is a spinal injury. How could your vitamin intake have any impact on spinal disc misalignment??!!

What happened is that the discs slipped a millimetre or two back towards where they should be and the pressure on your sciatic nerve is no longer as intense. Which is good. It means that your condition is mild enough that it doesn't require surgery.

Go see a doctor. He'll bugger around for 5 minutes, prescribe pain killers, bill OHIP and send you to a back specialist and make an appointment for an MRI. Go to those appointments. The back doc will refer you for massage therapy and give you home exercises to re align your back. That's probably all you need.

In the meantime:

1. Don't lift heavy objects. Get one of those wheeled briefcases if you carry files to work.
2. Check your shoes - Are they worn? Are the heels or soles lopsided? If so, get new shoes!
3. Take it easy for a couple of weeks.

So I finally had a talk with my naturopath, she told me the most likely cause of my sciatica was my posture.
She asked me how do I brush my teeth in the morning (which I thought was a strange question).
I showed her my posture and right away she told me that was the cause of my sciatica.

The problem is everytime you bend over to do something you put unneccessary strain on your lower back, and your disc nerves.
When you do that you will eventually develop lower back pain and/or sciatica.

Solution is:

Bend at your knees when you lower your upper body.
The pics below explain everything.

My back pain and sciatica hasnt returned since she explained this to me and I made the necessary adjustments.
Everything feels normal now.

REMEMBER TO BEND AT YOUR KNEES:
