Ok....now that I'm calm.....;)

I agree with t-boy...but it seems this style of writing is permeating popular culture....look at the way they ended the Sopranos.

End the last season by introducing all sorts of sub-plot lines that never get resolved.

I guess Ron Moore has been drinking the sci-fi version of the David Chase Kool-Aid....

There are a few dangling storylines, but BSG does have a way of wrapping things up neatly or at least tying them together in ways that seem real enough.

Tigh went though a lot of anguish over killing his wife. But Tigh ultimately is a tough-as-nails hard bastard; it wasn't altogether surprising them when he eventually pulled himself together and got back into the saddle. It's reasonable for Tyrol to go through a few episodes of grief over Cally as well. How he pulls through however will be different than Tigh simply because Tyrol is a different sort of man than Tigh.

I would like for baby Hera to be reintroduced. It would be interesting to see some sort of parallel between Hera and Nikki (Tyrol and Cally's kid). I sure this is something that's being saved up for later in the season.

On that note, with the writers' strike I know the schedule is a little off now. So when does the season end anyway?

I've read on another website that Tom Zarek is being touted as being the 12th Cylon.
Interesting. I could see that happening, but we don't really see a whole lot of Zarek. Perhaps Roslyn's concentration of power will culminate with her death and the "passing of the torch" to Vice President Zarek who will all of a sudden be revealed as a Cylon.

So according to this episode Starbuck will lead them to "The Promised Land". So Starbuck is Moses now and the disenfranchised Cylons are Jews? This would make the ruthless killer Cylons Muslims? The plot lines seem to echo current day earth a bit too much. lol

Next episode some Starbuck manages to get to the damager Base Star and talks to the hybrid, she hold she is the harbinger of death. Seems interesting enough.

Yeah, but don't hold your breath, they will probably drag THAT statement out for the reminding 12 or so episodes......

As for the chief and CALLIE'S baby, not one word has been spoken by anyone that she's half cylon.....it's like it isn't even relevant.....it is major plot failures like this that drive me nuts.

I watched the movie 28 weeks later the other day and there were MAJOR plot failures in that. I mean, one was the american military gave a civilian an all access pass even to secure medical facilities.....TOTAL BS in so many ways.....anyhow, I kind of lost interest in it after that...and the same is happening to BSG.

(some people take things WAY too seriously, cunning, basestar, deathstar, it's a fricken cylon ship for fuck's sake lol)

IT'S A "BASESTAR"!!!!!
Some times called a "BASE SHIP" too. Can"t figure out why 2 names mean the same ship. In the original series, I recall Apollo calling the Cylon ships a "Battlestar" once too.

just jokin' with you t-boy....;)

it's hard to convey satirical thought when typing, hence my use of the large capital letters.

I was trying to mimic the ultimate geek/nerd who takes this stuff way too seriously...

BTW....hunter001 has done their homework....
I don't mind be called a nerd but this guy takes it to the next level...

I liked this week's episode. It would have been better if Anders had of shot Felix a bit higher. The fight scene between 6 and the rebel chick was cool, as was the execution. The dialogue between Athena and the other 8s was cool (get a back bone and get a life.). Anders give the 8 absolution or something (different)? Didn't care about the spiritual plot stuff but I guess it is need to tie things together.

I did some digging on the Hybrid's dialogue.

Dialogue from Hybrid in Prophet and Loss
obstinate toy soldier becomes pliant....But you are a spark of God's fire....The children of the one reborn shall find their own country....The dying leader will know the truth of the opera house....The missing three will give you the five who have come from the home of the thirteenth. You will be the harbinger of death, Kara Thrace. You will lead them all to their end.
I was hoping the missing three were the Battestars from the season 4 trailer but they were quick to say the model "3"...

Dialogue from Hybrid in the Razor Episode.

At last, they’ve come for me. I feel their lives, their destinies spilling out before me. The denial of the one true path, played out on a world not their own, will end soon enough. Soon there will be four, glorious in awakening, struggling with the knowledge of their true selves. The pain of revelation bringing new clarity and in the midst of confusion, he will find her. Enemies brought together by impossible longing. Enemies now joined as one. The way forward at once unthinkable, yet inevitable. And the fifth, still in shadow, will claw toward the light, hungering for redemption that will only come in the howl of terrible suffering. I can see them all. The seven, now six, self-described machines who believe themselves without sin. But in time, it is sin that will consume them. They will know enmity, bitterness, the wrenching agony of one splintering into many. And then, they will join the promised land, gathered on the wings of an angel. Not an end, but a beginning.

Kara Thrace will lead the human race to its end. She is the herald of the apocalypse, the harbinger of death. They must not follow her.

As my own existence comes to a close, only to begin anew, in ways uncertain.

All this has happened before, and it will happen again...again...again...again...again...again...again...
Last thought Starbuck was hearing "the music" in this episode as well.

Thank you Hunter.....I also took notes on the hyrbids babble the 2nd time I view the episode.

You missed one according to my notes - "no ceremonies are necessary"

Not sure if that means anything, or could even spectulate.

My thoughts.

I found it chilling the way the Six Cylon executed her "sister", after she killed minor character Specialist Jean Barolay. They kissed, said goodbye, and then she pulled the trigger. "Will that satisfy your need for human justice?" she asked Starbuck. This collective memory that all the models "share" must be overwhelming. "I can't sleep at night" or "I wake up seeing her face"....remembering all the details, all the pain of death each time they ressurect....ugh.....

Anders character is gaining more and more depth. He so desperately wanted to put his hand in the control panel "water" to see what would happen. His compassion for the Eight that was shot by the Centurion guard when she went to disconnect the hybrid from the grid. Athena turned away from her "sister"....Anders held her as she died. I look for him to get more screen time and become a much more important character in terms of plot development as the series progresses.

Back at the Galactica, President Roselin is having a crisis of faith, spurred on by her encounter with fellow terminal cancer patient Emily (Nana Visitor from Star Trek DS9). What's a little interesting, and somewhat confusing is the dream sequence about crossing a river on a ferry to meet with one's loved ones and ancestors that have already died. Notice the numbers on the ships hull...they only go up to 12. And if memory serves me correctly, the reference to crossing a river....could that be the River Styx? But the River Styx was on the way to Hades (hell)...not a happy place to end up. Emily's rejection of the 12 Gods as she is dieing is mirroring what civilizations go through as they evolve and accept as an act of faith that there's one true God(even if he/she is known by many names) rather than many "pagan" ones.

The coming attractions for the next episode suggest that once the Demetrious returns to the fleet with the base ship in tow the Cylon/human alliance is solidified. There's a scene of Six with the Pres with her stating "Our destiny begins here". Will the Base Ship be of any use if Brother Cavils ships find them and a battle ensues? Or can the Colonials use the damaged base ship to their advantage and lure Brother Cavils ships into an ambush?

till then...."Set Condition One throughout the ship and prepare to jump..."
