The key to this series is Burnett. CC is going to his usual self and be lights out. Petite will give you six and change and be steady. Chamberlin,Hughes and Rivera will be solid.
If Burnett is on this is going to be a short series. If not then it's going seven.

If the Yankees win, they will be insufferable (like the rich kid in high school who is dropped off by his chauffer). Do the Yanks have home field advantage?

Who cares?

Seriously - who cares? I love baseball, the sport just for the record. I hate the MLB. They refuse to expand the playoff format. MLB is all about who spends the most money on the best players (almost always the same teams), and making sure that those teams are there come playoff time for the biggest possible, ratings/revenue bonanza. It's not about fair competition.

Seriously, all the mid-lower echelon teams try to sell the promise and hope of better things to come but does it ever? Nope! It's exactly like NCAA Football. The powers that be in NCAA manipulate the rules and bowl championship formats to monoploize revenue. They dont want things to change.....EVER!!

Anybody who watched the Yanks in the playoffs and how the umps favoured them had to know that the fix was in. They wanted the NY TV audience for the World Series.

The Angels didn't need help from the umps. They made many mistakes in the series and were very careless. Frankly they deserved to lose.

I voted and forgot to post earlier.

The Yankees will win the WS in five maybe six. They would probably prefer six so they can win in front of the home fans at The House That Jeter Built, the new Yankee Stadium.

I will say both Sabathia and Burnett come up big in games one and two.

I was hoping for the Angels as I'm very much an anyone but the Yankees kind guy but the best team one last night. The Halos basically shot themselves in the foot every time they started something.

Needles to say, let's go Phillies.

Phillies to repeat!

A lot are saying now that CC can go in games 1,4 and 7 that the Phillies are doomed. They seem to forget what they did to CC last year when he was in Milwaukee.

Here's the linescore from game 2 in the 2008 NLDS for CC:

3.2 6 5 5 4 5 1 12.27 ERA !!!
Victorino launched a grand slam to finish him off.

Lifetime in the regular season he's 1-1 with a 4.35 ERA against Philly. Not so dominant against the Phils as he is against others .....

I have no real basis for my felling but the last 2 years the Phillies seemed to really take things to a higher level when the post season hit. They have a quiet confidence and the will to win. I say my Phillies in 6 .....

Better to call it the SANDBOX that Jeter built. Little Leaguers can hit home runs in that hat box:p.
Which makes you wonder what Howard will do with that right field homer haven ......... Yankee's bandbox makes citizen's Bank Park look like a pitcher's park! Amazingly he hit none out this year in 3 games there.

Oh please.

The umps have been a disgrace throughout the playoffs not to mention just as pathetic in the regular season.

That said, Yankees win the World Series in "the house that George built" in 6 games!

Did the announcers say the Phillies hit 12 or 16 Grand slams this year? WoW!!!

Go Phillies.
