Its not out of his budgetDon't go to the restaurant if it's out of your budget.
I don't think it has much to do with Ontario's lower minimum wage for all servers. In BC, we have the same minimum wage (except for places that serve liquor) and tipping is still expected even in places that do not serve liquor (e.g breakfast and lunch places). It is a custom that for some reason is ingrained in North America but not other parts of the world (at least to the same extent). Even the minimum wage for places that serve liquour is only about a $1.20 less which is far less than the tips involved.Simply put it is the government's fault for allowing businesses to pay their servers below minimum wage.
How does contributing a larger percent of your earnings have anything to do with the price of the entre?Don't go to the restaurant if it's out of your budget.
True. How does contributing a larger percent of your earnings have anything to do with the price of the entre?
Besides when a man is a chef, a man needs no restaurant.
Its almost like a form of discrimination towards the less fortunate. It is a way to keep "those kind òf people" from eating in the classy part of town. I think Fuji can explain it better than I can.True.
And another weird about tipping..... why is it even on a % basis?
A person orders a bottle of wine for $50. Little hassle, no mess.
A family of 4 eats at East Side Marios. Total bill $50. A mess, lots of back and forth, kids, etc...
In both situations, a waiter expects/demands the same amount of tip.
Whose this SP so I can avoid her. Feel free to PM me. Tipping should never be asked for by an SP.Just wondering since I don't know the logic or reasoning behind it but why tip an Escort? Honestly, I would like to know.
Worked in the restaurant industry when they were paid peanuts compared to other jobs because they were expected to be tipped. I get that. Hair cutters, taxis and valet, I kinda get it but not exactly. Just seems that society has said that for whatever reason to be polite you tip. I will say though, I have on several occasions not tipped a hair cutter.
Escorts are a whole different ball game. I hire a mechanic to work on my car, I am not expected to tip him afterwards. An IT guy comes to house to solve a huge computer malfunction, do I tip him? No. So why are you expected to tip escorts? Ladies set a rate for what they deem their time to be and that is what gets paid. Did she provide some extra service or go out of her way for you at no additional charge, sure tip, that I get. However you book an incall for an hour at 350 and she lets you in the door at the arranged time and she has you going out the door 55 minutes later then why are you tipping? You had an arrangement for cash for services and it was agreed to, nothing extra offered, why tip? There was one lady I had seen on a couple of occasions and she tried to sneak the conversation of tipping escorts in, eventually saying that she doesn't understand why guys don't tip. That was my last visit to her. Your rate is 300 and you expect a tip, he's a tip, charge 350.
If the bill is too big a share of your earnings for you to manage it, go to a cheaper restaurant. How does contributing a larger percent of your earnings have anything to do with the price of the entre?
Besides when a man is a chef, a man needs no restaurant.
Never once in my life has a waiter ever spoken to me about why he or she feels they deserve a tip. I think you're imagining things conversations.True.
And another weird about tipping..... why is it even on a % basis?
- A person orders a bottle of wine for $50. Little hassle, no mess.
- A family of 4 eats at East Side Marios. Total bill $50. A mess, lots of back and forth, kids, etc...
In both situations, a waiter expects/demands the same amount of tip.
And here's another one.....
- As a waiter I deserve good tips because I served you great. Who cares if the food sucks and the place is a dump. I'm not the cook or the cleaner. So reward me for what I did
- As a waiter I deserve good tips because wasn't the food good? Hey, I'm busy, so sorry but I can't service all tables well. So if the food was great, isn't that all the matters? Ya, so I want good tips
You're hilarious, one minute you speak like a sjw liberator everyone deservers equality(or at least more than white people). And the next minute you are nose up talking down to people like royalty to a peasant. If the bill is too big a share of your earnings for you to manage it, go to a cheaper restaurant.
And is idioticTipping in Casinos is huge and makes up quite a bit if their income. It is divided equally and is taxable income. There is no standard amount expected
In all of your wisdom, how much do you think a blackjack dealer makes per hour in an Ontario casino, after the tips are included? And do you know how much they make per year? Just another asinine comment from a poor little person who know very little about anything and a lot about nothing. Why even bother posting because your ignorance clearly shows in everything you say.And is idiotic
Casino workers make a very good wage (probably more than most of the gamblers) so why would anyone even consider tipping them?
That is strange, when you delivered my pizza last night, you couldn't stop thanking me enough for the $2.00 tip I gave to you.Another tip that makes me laugh
Order food (eg Pizza)
Pizza place adds a surcharge to your bill for delivery service
Then tries to tell you this is the stores money not driver tip so you should double tip driver
I am sure there are some idiots who actually hand over more
You mean the 2.00 tip you keyed into the debit machine while they just stand there and watched you operated the entire transaction? That is strange, when you delivered my pizza last night, you couldn't stop thanking me enough for the $2.00 tip I gave to you.
No, I paid by cash. The tip was slightly over $2.00 as I told him to just keep the change. You mean the 2.00 tip you keyed into the debit machine while they just stand there and watched you operated the entire transaction?
lol its such an honor to get to play the cashier role now.
You sir are cheap according to the crazies in this threadThat is strange, when you delivered my pizza last night, you couldn't stop thanking me enough for the $2.00 tip I gave to you.
Um yeah since they post all the timeIn all of your wisdom, how much do you think a blackjack dealer makes per hour in an Ontario casino, after the tips are included? And do you know how much they make per year? Just another asinine comment from a poor little person who know very little about anything and a lot about nothing. The pizza cost just under $13 before tax and delivery cost so the tip was in the 15% range. You are complaining now after you were almost in tears when I gave you the tip. Boy, you really are an ungrateful, miserable person. Oh well, I guess I can better understand why you hate the world so much. You sir are cheap according to the crazies in this thread
$2 is nowhere near 15% of your bill total
Um yeah since they post all the time
Perhaps reading is not your strong suit
Either way the entire argument for why we "must" tip a waiter is they get paid less than minimum wage
Anyone working a casino does not
By your logic should we tip all uneducated mouth breathers working part time jobs?
Suppose your math is just as good as your reading skillzThe pizza cost just under $13 before tax and delivery cost so the tip was in the 15% range. You are complaining now after you were almost in tears when I gave you the tip. Boy, you really are an ungrateful, miserable person. Oh well, I guess I can better understand why you hate the world so much.
