That's an odd interpretation of what the discussion seems to be.

You don't have to be a heartless conservative to know that deportation has to be a major part of the border control/immigration toolbox. Trump basically said a couple weeks ago that you can't limit your options otherwise migrants will keep pouring over the border. If the U.S. makes it easy and comfortable to stay without legal status, you get the mess we have now.

I don't exactly know how stringent deportation policy will be, but I do know you can't have a policy that avoids deportations other than in very extreme cases. Regardless of the election outcome, I think the American people now knows that to be the case. They also resent the media gaslighting.

But no one is saying "no one should ever be deported". (Well, maybe some activists somewhere.)

Look at that clip you yourself posted.
The discussion is on the cost of the program and that this man is content with deporting American citizens if anyone in their family is eligible for deportation.
And that's just in 28 seconds.

How this would be done has been the discussion the whole time.
The scale.
The cost.
The approach.
Etc.

“Following the Eisenhower model, we will carry out the largest domestic deportation operation in American history.” <-- That was Trump in 2023.
That model is "Operation Wetback". (Only Trump has already said he would use the military as well, which Eisenhower didn't do.)

This has always been a discussion about what goes into his deportation plan, not "oh no, deportation is bad and should never happen".

My personal life? No. Bets lots if others can say the same.

But it's like the lockdowns. I was very lucky. My household maintained full time employment, experienced no hardship. We were happy together, still had a house, good food to eat, entertainment options, could communicate with loved ones and over didn't even have issues.

But I have friends who did. In various ways. So yes, I can look at situations, say, I'm fine, but my surroundings are not. And I empathize, and in some cases could be their as an ear, or some other help.

And as for the election. While Jill Stein might use the term "lesser of two evils" to describe the Dems, I wouldn't, they are imo just as bad as the GOP. I know you don't agree, and I don't care really. Feel free to sit at your keyboard being a sanctimonious little man, tut tuting that evil Butler dude.

I'm amused.

Supposing both the Dems and the GOP are the same, you should default to the one that treats Canada better. During Trump's presidency, he renegotiated NAFTA and got better terms for the US. He has recently stated that he would put 60% tariffs on China and 10% on everyone else, Canada is included in everyone else. He has also stated that he would put a 200% tariff on john dere if they move production to Mexico even though there is a free trade agreement in place with Mexico.

The US is our largest trading partner, without free trade Canada is doomed, my business as many many other Canadian businesses are doomed.

I dont think he is going to put more tariffs on us. I think he will concentrate on China. I think it's just talk. He has to go through Congress in the end. And as for NAFTA weren't you one if the ones crowing it amounted to almost nothing? I know several others did. You should be far more worried about Mexico stealing jobs from here then what Trump will do.

The World, no matter who is in charge down there, is about to get a whole lot worse. So buckle up, because I can promise you both parties will happily screw who ever they have to.
