Although Flaherty and Harper have backed down from some of the more controversial measures in the "economic update" and are beginning to relent on the issue of providing a stimulus the Opposition still seems to be talking about defeating the government and forming a coalition.

I vote no despite my hope for it and belief that coalitions are about to become the norm in Canadian politics. I don't think jack Layton will commit to one because a) I think he feels his party is superior to the Liberals and I that he will not compromise his positions to there's. and b) the people who support the NDP would in large part feel betrayed by any compromisehe did make (other then me voting anti-Bob Rae, you don't vote NDP to win, you vote for your beliefs) and abandon him next election.

There will be no offer on the table that Layton can take.

Harper having these tapes is incredibly suspicious, not admitting it doesn't make sense or serve a logical purpose. There is a fundamental difference between assuming guilt and finding behaviour questionable (except on Fox news, but they do this deliberately for partisan reasons.)

I admit it's suspicious behavier and I assume authorities are looking into it further. However, since I'm NOT A FREAKIN INVESTIGATOR, I don't have to "entertain suspicians". I can wait and see what the case is against Harper.

Yes, the actions are questionable. If it turns out Harper is involved in wiretapping, I will be the first to demand his resignation and that he be criminally charged.
