You do realize that there is nothing stopping an indy from saying she wants $300 or $500 right? If a girl feels that sex with her is worth that much let her go ahead and set her price and let the market decide if it is too high or too low.
You can't say it is too high or low in isolation, you have to keep in mind the wages of people living in that city. Many workers barely take home $1000 every two weeks after paying for their deductions, taxes etc.
SPs in New York, LA and London charge a lot more, but the cost of living there is a lot higher than in Toronto. Moreover, working in the US entails a higher risk factor, so that risk premium pushes the prices up. In places where prostitution is illegal or sex is more controlled the prices are higher.
Oth the other hand, in Amsterdam, a city with a relatively lower cost of living and where prostitution is much more out in the open, a session can be had for 50 Euros.
As someone pointed out in another thread once, we are not paid for sex, we are paid to go away after the sex....

1. The market is what the market is & the ladies who are not willing to provide service at a certain price will not.
If a lady can charge $500 / hr & there is enough demand for services at that price then , that is the market price.
If there is not enough demand she will either have to drop her price or do something else.

I think SP's are overpaid. What's harder? Going through 4 years of undergrad, 4 years of medical school, and 7 years of residency to perform life or death open heart surgery to get paid $200/hr? Or being banged by a guy for $250/hr? I mean, come on.
I'm not sure what the agency's stake of the $250 is, but any profession that pays near that requires 6-8 years of grueling education, probably a shite load of debt and financial hardship. Not to mention these professions are highly difficult and I'm willing to bet the stress involved more than balances bodily stresses from having lots of fun time . Let's take a doctor for instance since it's the most obvious choice. They don't see the majority of their income because they pay through the nose for malpractice insurance and taxes. There job is one of the most critical out there, and mistakes can be deadly. Talk about pressure.
Now SPs. Maybe they are putting themselves at risk to an STD, but i'm willing to bet the chances of that in Canada are slim. Sorry, but aside from having a client you despise, an SP's profession doesn't rank up there on stress level.
So no experience required, low stress levels, and a high pay rate - I don't care what you've been told, these gals are raking it in (ever wonder why they're off for a few weeks or so every few months? It's called the Bahamas). My two cents? *Most* SP's are overpaid.

I think he is speaking from his own perspective. Maybe he feels that he is so unattractive and so repulsive to women that $250 is not enough compensation for them to sleep with him.

Are you finding yourself fairly busy?
If so, just raise your rates and get other quality SPs to join, you might find that you're right and you can get more even with tough times in other sectors because you're aiming at more successful people.
Or you'll find you're wrong, but you can always lower the price again. How many other industries have that kind of control?

Unfortunately in this business we do have high stress and not just because of the physical risks involved in getting intimate with complete strangers There is no retirement plan except for what we can hide away after paying rent/mortgage, utility bills, food, necessities, advertising, insurance, clothing (the ones we wear while working), and even though manicures, pedicures and hair styling may sound like a luxury in this business it is a necessity.....IF we have even a few dollars left at the end of the month then we try to tuck it away for a rainy day. Most of us cannot work one week out of the month,,,,,we don't work when we are sick, we don't work if we are hurt, we don't work when the economy is bad and most of us have a very short 'shelf life'. Oh, let's not forget the ever increasing competition with new girls and lower rates......Nope we don't have much to be stressed about,,,,,
So instead of these guys comparing SPs to a doctor, its more like a professional athlete. Not educated to be in the sport but must be very good at your craft, big bucks to compensate for short life span, public exposure issues and great chances of injury.
I don't doubt being a SP is probably a very difficult job. I couldn't do it. I can't imagine having sex with fat, old, ugly women. Even $250/hr wouldn't be enough.

The sp profession is a sales job paid on commission! You only as good as your last sale. When the ecomony tanks, everybody is effected then everybody bites, the bullet, just like every service business. Consumers go to receive value! If not there is someone who will provide it. Or they stay away. We heard on Terb the stories, as is the clearing house of who makes it or doesn't. High end sp's whom I has the pleasure do not want to her about there reviews! My experience puts them on the defense.
The OP, in her other posts, insists that it is illegal for an SP to accept payment after providing the service. It has to be provided at the start of the session or its illegal, says Ms. Joytree!!! "I'm calling the cops on you, girl. You fucked me before accepting payment - you're gonna get bus-ted!"
