I hear the Z30 battery life is great! 1.5 days of regular usage. This is exactly why a quad core android doesn't make sense. And the os is very stable. I'm getting a Z30 ASAP myself. Nobody feel the need to try and sway me otherwise. Decided!

Agreed, if the phone is good for, then get it and enjoy it. Don't be a sheep. If BlackBerry can somehow stay alive, they will fulfill a niche market again as they did before.

If I were seeing reports like this about the Z30, I'd think twice about getting one. Lots of people are having this problem with the 5S.

I don't really care which Mobile OS has the greatest market share, that's not how I shop for a phone or anything else. I'm looking for one that has the most features/functions that make sense to me. If the iPhone had upgradeable memory, a replaceable battery and an HDMI port I'd seriously think of getting one. The iPhone 9 will probably have these features if they continue to lose market share to androids. :)
Why would you need an upgradable memory if you only require five apps. If your looking at a bb yeah I understand why you need a replacement battery cause they tend to wear out quickly. Why do you need a HDMI port if you only have five apps and do you really want to be tether to the television with a four foot long cable. Blackberry were great when they first came out but unimpressive ever since Just look at the sales of the q10 way below expected Wasn't blackberry saying they expect sales in the millions range and I think the first weekend it was in the 200 thousands a far cry from there expected release expectations. Even when they released the q10 everywhere I looked that had it didn't have one on display that wasn't on demo mode that doesn't sell phones being able to get a feel of the phone behaviors does not demos modes. But I get it you want probably the last phone that blackberry probably will produce you want to be the one of fifty people that will actually buy the phone

Nothing to do with apps. You do know smartphones with 8 MP cameras which also take 1080p HD videos require memory to store the files, right? I take a lot videos and pictures for work and pleasure. I currently have 9000+ pictures, hundreds of videos, 4,000 songs and lots of podcasts on my current BB, so expandable memory is an excellent feature. To me the iPhone is a ripoff, especially considering how cheap memory is these days.

If your looking at a bb yeah I understand why you need a replacement battery cause they tend to wear out quickly.
I have 2 batteries for my current BB and although I wouldn't say they wear out quickly, (3 years old and still working fine) but like most phones you need to charge them once a day. The replaceable battery is handy if I don't have a charger with me. The Z30's battery isn't replaceable but is rated at 2,880mAh which is 2.25 times the capacity of the one in my current BB and is reported to be the best out of any smartphone on the market. An external backup battery is also available for the Z30.

Once again, nothing to do with apps. I already have a 20' HDMI cable in my living room that goes from my receiver to the table beside my couch which plugs into my laptop. I use it to watch movies in 7.1 surround, YouTube or pictures on my 50" TV. It will be great to simply plug the Z30 in and view pics and videos right from the phone. Another excellent feature.

Blackberry were great when they first came out but unimpressive ever since Just look at the sales of the q10 way below expected Wasn't blackberry saying they expect sales in the millions range and I think the first weekend it was in the 200 thousands a far cry from there expected release expectations. I don't care how many Q10 or Z10's they've sold, nor do I base my decision on what is most popular. If that's how you choose a product then go right ahead. Have fun keeping up with the Joneses. I'll choose one that makes the most sense to me.

The other deciding factor is the keyboard since I send a lot of texts and emails. I've tried both the iPhone and the Z10 and I much prefer the Z10 as it offers suggestions based both on the word that’s just been entered as well as partially entered text. Over time it learns how you type so it adapts to your writing patterns and will bend its suggestions to the word combinations you use most often. You simply swipe the word up to add it to the sentence. By all accounts it's the most intuitive virtual keyboard on the market. The Z30's will just be a bit larger which will make it even better.

But I get it you want probably the last phone that blackberry probably will produce you want to be the one of fifty people that will actually buy the phone.
Whatever!

I checked out the pricing from Bell on a 64 GB iPhone 5S vs. the BB Z30 based on a 2 year plan.

iPhone 5S 64 GB: $440.00 plus tax = $497.20

BB Z30 16 GB: $179.00 + $50.00 for 64 GB Micro SD Card plus tax = $258.77 for a total of 80 GB storage.

The iPhone isn't worth an extra $240 IMHO.

I went with the iphone, for me blackberry just has too many of the same problems from phone to phone like randomly having the screen go blank and restarting it every ten minutes.

I used to think i was not an app user, but i realized this was because i used a bb. On my iphone I have about 40 apps now on blackberry i maybe used 10 and i would notice more freezing etc.

my best suggestion is to go somewhere and try them for yourself. Apple products always work how i like things to work. Its worth a shot to try somehting else i was die hard bb user and will never look back. Also the bbm for iphone is either out now or coming soon

If you're taking about the old BB OS7 phones then I would agree they had those types of problems. The new OS 10.2 on the Q10/Z10/Z30 doesn't have those problems. Oddly enough, it's the Apple iOS 7 that's causing all sorts of problems including the blue screen of death right now. Just Google "iOS 7 crashes".

According to users Web-wide, the latest iOS 7 seems to have made legacy Apple smartphones a bit dumber. Reports continue to pour in describing crashes, slowness and erratic behavior overtaking iPhone 4s and 4Ses that have upgraded to the newest version of iOS.

Unfortunately for these users, there's no going back. They can't downgrade back to iOS 6—Apple saw to that—which means they're effectively held hostage now. Sure, the captivity is of their own making, but if they ever want to see decent iPhone performance again, the fact remains that they'll have to pay up for a new handset.

I'd go with the iPhone but the Z30 has more features, plus it has a 5" screen which I like better.

phones are disposable items now, just get what you want... they will all do a good job. Only a small percentage of people tap into deeper functionality.

That's been my theory all along. It's funny when friends (especially iPhone users) go on about how BlackBerry is doomed, their product sucks, they'll have no support etc. It's only a phone, I can always switch to another brand/model down the road.

Here's what I like about the Z30.

- The 5" screen is beautiful, crisp and extremely responsive.
- Build quality and finish is excellent.
- Browser is lightning quick. Had a few friends with iPhone 4 & 5's try it and they were very impressed.
- Crazy battery life. Charged it at noon Monday and still had 35% left at noon on Wednesday with lots of use. Charged it later that day at 9:30 PM but still had 24% left.
- Typing on the virtual keyboard is nice and easy and the predictive text works well, flicking entire words to complete sentences. Voice to text is near perfect.
- Camera takes great pictures as does the 1080p video.
- Speakers have really nice sound.

No downside so far, other than there isn't as many apps available like on other platforms but that's a non-issue for me. I can live without a farting app. :D

Well after getting rid of my bb , they go and get John Chen to run the joint. If any one can be a game changer ad turn the joint around , it's John Chen. And next version of 10.2 will run android apps even easier than current After ditching them and now believe it may be too early to write them off.
I'm also yet to find a new phone that has as solid a build quality and cordite to hold like he z10.

Check out the Z30. :D

I do have to say the iPhone 5S has really nice build quality/feel in your hand but it's a touch too small for my liking. The Galaxy S4 feels quite cheap to me. The Z30 is a nice combo of size and build quality.

Wish RIM executed like Google did and put out the BB10 lineup many years ago. I think RIM vs Apple would have provided much better choices than what we have today.

Totally agree... BB took way too long to release their BB10 platform. Although I'm really glad I waited for the Z30.

Funny thing. I went to a phone Kiosk at the mall to check out the new offerings. I asked the woman about the Z30, her response "stay away from bb", and pointed me towards an LG device. Even the sales people have given up.
