Again, you're coming from a poor man's perspective, you think I need the extra $20. It could fall out of my pocket and I'd never notice. The amount I dine out isn't limited by the size of the bill. If I want to eat out every day of the week, I do, with or without another $20 or another $200.A fool and his money are soon parted
I know math is obviously not your strongest suit but on your $100 bill an extra $20 means you only could eat out more often
With your example this equates to you eating out 5 nights a week vs my eating out 6 nights a week and we both made and spent the same money
Now sure if I was eating out every night at Michelin rated restaurants and dropping $500 each meal the tip might become significant to my budget but I don't even want to do that, I like my local rib joint where my whole bill comes to $50 and I'd eat at that place just as much if they doubled the prices because I just like the food.
The waiter there knows my order, he works hard, and I'm happy to drop a nice tip his way.
