A fool and his money are soon parted

I know math is obviously not your strongest suit but on your $100 bill an extra $20 means you only could eat out more often
With your example this equates to you eating out 5 nights a week vs my eating out 6 nights a week and we both made and spent the same money
Again, you're coming from a poor man's perspective, you think I need the extra $20. It could fall out of my pocket and I'd never notice. The amount I dine out isn't limited by the size of the bill. If I want to eat out every day of the week, I do, with or without another $20 or another $200.

Now sure if I was eating out every night at Michelin rated restaurants and dropping $500 each meal the tip might become significant to my budget but I don't even want to do that, I like my local rib joint where my whole bill comes to $50 and I'd eat at that place just as much if they doubled the prices because I just like the food.

The waiter there knows my order, he works hard, and I'm happy to drop a nice tip his way.

Anyone who tips 20% is a fool. I guess it stems from a need to feel important, wealthy or generous.

A fool tips 20%
A bigger fool makes a claim that he could lose 20% of his money and never notice
Either way this is fuji we are discussing

So I am going to go with the need to feel important

You brought a poor man's perspective to the question and wrongly figured that budget was the limit on how often I eat out.

$20 is a few 1000th of percent of my income. I could tip 200% and eat out every night if I wanted.

I see you ninja edited after my why.

I can answer for myself that I like to be generous with others when I'm enjoying myself. As I said life's been good to me, I have more than I need, and when I go out and I'm having a good time with the money life's given me I like to throw it around a little to the servers and others.

Much rather throw a few bucks to a hard working server busting their ass slinging drinks and meals than some homeless guy in the street.

I know you're cheap.

I can understand why a poor man might not tip, trying to make every penny count, stretching to live within your means.

As I said, life has been good to me and I like spreading a little bit of that goodness in my wake particularly when I'm enjoying myself. I feel it should be a happy time for all involved and that includes anyone serving me. So I tip generously.

And like I said an extra ten or twenty bucks just won't make any real difference in my pocket anyway. If I get out for an evening and spend $100 in a restaurant what's an extra $20 really?
You realize your trying to explained humanity to TeeJay right??

English lesson to go with your previous schooling

Your should be spelled you're or you are
Explained should be explain
You should only have 1 ? at end of sentence

Now if I was you I would make a racist generalization based on your poor grasp of english language
The fact you & fuji think alike pretty much sums up your net worth

If you're going to criticize someone's English, at least use proper punctuation.

My net worth is probably a little lower than it should be because I'm a good person that tips in a culture where our labor laws are structured around people doing the noble thing.

Something tells me Fuji's net worth is quadruple yours.

I have no idea whether I'm important but I'm certainly better off than 99% of people. This is terb, you'll find a lot of people here have money. Many with much more than I have.

Life is all about giving and sharing. We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.

Do all the tight walleted accountants/ mathematicians here realize that they are criticizing Fuji for leaving a 20% tip, rather than the customary 15% tip, which equates to an extra $5 on a $100 dinner bill?

The quote stops here for TeeJay.
haha..That's a good one. You cannot take your money with you when you die. Hope he finds out one day what he has missed out in his life. Giving is rewarding and the joy you get out of it is the kind of happiness unlike any other.

I think I am going to lose my escorts stick together card here, but I don't think escorts need a tip. We set our rates, that is fine in my opinion.

I tip cabs, I tip good service, hair dressers. I have even tips a store clerk because they spent about 2 hours with me alone, picking the perfect outfit. A tip is suppose to be for excellent service. If you go above and beyond for me, I will happily give a little extra. Done it with movers, my garage door guy. Sometimes cash is given and they don't have $5 or $10 to return in change then keep it. Ain't no thing. I got more.

I don't think a tip should be expected but I do think people should look at the wage some are being paid and if it is less then min. wage or you know the profession relies heavily on tips for a working wage, then give a little.

One thing I will say, not enough people will talk to management about excellent service. If I am tipping 25% because I was so happy with the service, I am telling management to keep that person because they are a great worker.
