Hmmm!

6 months of a years salary, That's a nice new car, a luxury cruise around the world or a good down payment on a house/condo. OK!

It just highlights the mentality
It does not matter to unions who pays or who gets screwed, so as long as they get theirs.
What happened to "What we want for ourselves, we want for all"?

I guess you need to amend that to
"What we want for ourselves, we want for all, unless of course If I might lose out, then its fuck you brother"

Makes a mockery of all of your brotherhood & solidarity bullshit does it not?

Is the fact that you guys associate greed with unions instead of the Gordon Gecco types on Wall Street where the real greed exists in this society. The unions are bit players in this.

Who said it's a case of either or.

Gorden Geeko is a fictional character.

What JL is saying is that all the rhetoric about solidarity, what's good for one is good for all and such is just hot air. The union reps hung the new people out to dry for the sake of the senior staffers.

So it is all of us or none of us, except when I lose out. Nothing shared here, pure selfish GREED!

It's the greed in this local, this union, this strike, and at this time

Is the fact that you guys will always find someone who you can claim/blame is worse than you & that you feel that justifies your reprehensible behavior.

Do you think mentioning Gordon Gecco or even Madoff will excuse the fact your slogans and rhetoric are just a smoke screen for plain old fashion greed.

Ask a Wall street type why?
They will tell you straight to your face "Greed"
At least you get a honest answer, like it or not

You & your lot spew out all this garbage about how you deserve excess, are more efficient than the private sector & just want what everyone else gets, then two days later your throwing another group under the bus to better yourselves.

Single largest group of hypocrites in our society.

You must really think the rest of society is pretty stupid to believe the stuff you come up with.
Believe me they are not & more & more are getting tired of it.

Bye the way "More efficient than the private sector."
Thats the funniest thing I have read here, unfortunately I think you honestly believe it.

Read Sid Ryan in the Globe today, city studied the York borough model, garbage system cheaper and more accountable in public sector. Obama moving slowly to national health care like every other nation even business now wants it because single payer system cheaper and fairer at the same time. There are a lot of things we do with the public sector because it is more efficient.

Health care
Libraries
LCBO
Canadian Forces
Police
Fire Fighting
education
environmental protection
garbage collection
parks
roads
public transit
pensions
housing the poor
and on and on...

You drank the Kool Aid on private sector efficiency a long time ago. iF AFRAID YOU ARE BEYOND HOPE AT THIS POINT.

Solidarity Forever, solidarity forever.... what a great old tune.

Mrbig1949, does this mean you think government should take over more services?
Should they operate grocery stores for instance, to make them more efficient?

If not, why not?

Bogus bogus bogus!!!

A few of those service are made public to cross provincial jurisdictions

The addition of the army as a public service is just wrong and it's not unionized.

There are public and private libraries, all high quality and well thought of in many circles.

There are public and private schools and gin many are well regarded.

There are public pension and private pensions and both work.

In markets that support a smaller scale there are private transportation companies.

Roadwork is handled by both public and private operation.

Garbage, no need to go further

ETC.........

Most if not all your offerings have feet in both camps to the satisfaction of many. They're not exclusive realms of unions. You're still trying to float that old canard that unions=quality. Please remember, less than 30% of workers are not unionized and Canada is doing fine.

You can repeat the chorus of 'solidarity forever' until you're blue ( you probably hum it will you shave), but you won't sell it any more to the new hires and the junior members. The CUPE reps failed to deliver when they had to. Talk is just talk and that's all they did, TALK.

Trying to pile Obama and health care into this means you running out of good points to bring forth.

I would like to see the government own and operate a major bank operating on a non-profit basis. This wuld be like the Province of Ontario savings bank only about the Bank of Nova Scotia scale

I would like to see a public oil company like the original Petro-Canada

I would like to see a public medicare plan cover all prescription drugs, medical aids and dentistry

We are moving to a public sector dominated Day Care sector we should speed that up. Only public day care should get public subsidies.

I would like to tax elite private schools.

I would like to see a public high speed train in the Windsor Quebec City corridor ASAP.

The small grocery stores are safe.

This is where you lost all credibility in your post
This is the same guy who wanted to use his CUPE power to force a ban of Israeli professors from visiting York University to lecture.
Among his other less than admirable qualities he is clearly overstepping his mandate.

Even Buzz publicly told him he crossed the line
Sid Ryan is an exceptionally irresponsible person & what he says is not worth listening

I would like to see a levy on all union dues to pay for all this shit.

200% ought to be a good place to start, but following your model, we will not stop with the increases (ever!!!!)

back to Economics 101 for you. The public sector is just far better at some things and you can't admit it. Come on you can tell us.

Well you have at least coalesced to 'some things'. For the longest time you claimed unions gave us almost everything short of the immaculate conception.

It interesting that Miller and company don't seem to be in any hurry to meet and ratify the agreement. Doesn't sound like they're desperate or trying to save face.

UNIONS-The people who brought you the weekend.
More bumper sticker proclamations.

In an economy that is virtually 24/7 how do you make that claim? What do you define as a weekend?

You're getting a might tiresome, but somewhat entertaining. Keep digging.
